Whereabouts down south is the map from. I would have guessed dry zone, i.e past matara based on the vegetation. But then the orientation of the ocean is wrong.

@ sbarrkum: The appearance of the vegetation may be a little deceptive as this image was taken just a month post tsunami - its actually Kosgoda

ReplyDeleteYes, know the place. Picture perfect with the couple of coconut trees on the lagoon side. Vaguely recall one of the houses on the spit looking like it had been damaged by the Tsunami.

@ sbarrkum: I don't think your image is from that vicinity; at this point, its a causeway that crosses the lagoon, joined by two discreet bridges at either end.
